What is 'Les Journées des Plantes' .....
The October event has just completed for 2023 but we are looking forward to Spring for the seasons' best kept horticultural secret....
The 'Chantilly Plant Days' a summary of the event:-
- The most important exhibition-sale of plants ever gathered in one place: from collectible plants to great classics, from new varieties to rediscoveries: all the plant diversity brought together.
- The reference event, of international reputation, which brings together garden enthusiasts, aesthetes and the curious.
- The excellence of European nurserymen among more than 200 exhibitors selected by the various Selection Committees, according to the criteria and quality requirements defined by the Exhibitors' Charter.
- A place of exchange and discovery, the Journées des Plantes de Chantilly offer each edition a rich program with practical workshops, advice, conferences, launches of new varieties...
- The Cannes Film Festival of the profession: an International Jury of Merits is present to distinguish the most beautiful plants
- 3 days to buy, share, discover, visit, learn, celebrate plants!
This is a major European horticulture event held in France in both May and October and an opportunity for all garden lovers to meet over 200 professionals from all over Europe.
Almost 30 years after its creation, this show-and-sell event that was created by a handful of enthusiasts has become the main European horticultural event in France. Over time, The Flower Show has forged a unique identity and acquired an international dimension, without ever straying from its main purpose: enhancing the know-how of horticulture and botanic arts.
Bringing together 200 exhibitors - nurseries, horticulturists and professionals from the plant trade – "Les Journées des Plantes" offers visitors the possibility to purchase plants, flowers, shrubs... they can also obtain advice on maintaining their gardens and can participate in workshops and attend conferences on specific subjects. From orchids to carnivorous plants via perennials, everything will be covered during 3 unique days that will delight gardening enthusiasts!
As with most of our tours the visit to this event may be tailored to work with flights as well as a channel crossing.
By way of an outline for the Les Journées des Plantes - Chantilly tour based on 3 days, 2 nights....
Friday - Early morning departure by executive coach to Paris, via the Euro Tunnel. There will be a stop en-route. Following the visit continue onward to your hotel arriving early evening. Your choice of hotel is in either central or south west Paris. The evening is at your leisure. An evening meal in the hotel or a local restaurant can be arranged.*
Saturday - After breakfast travel to Les Journees des Plantes Chantilly where you will have the day at your leisure to browse the many stalls of plants and garden accessories within the wonderful grounds of the Chateau Chantilly. In the afternoon, after loading your purchases onto the coach, return to the hotel to freshen up before going into Paris for free time. An evening meal at a typically French restaurant can be arranged.*
Sunday - After breakfast check out of the hotel for the return journey home. There will be a stop en-route. Following the break, the journey home continues, arriving back at your pick up point on Sunday evening.
*We are happy to arrange an evening meal, for a supplement, at the hotel or a local restaurant for any of the nights of your stay, payment may be on an individual or group basis.
We pride ourselves on our flexibility to tailor the tours to your specific needs. As a result, the group tour can be any combination of days, and depart on any day of your choice but remember Courson is only open on the specified 3 days. If you are a group the pick up points are of your choice. As an individual we will try to accommodate you on a tour and pick you up from a destination of your choice along the route. The hotels we use are always 3 or 4 star and all have been visited by us to ensure we deliver the standard we promise.
